Saint-Petersburg Metro construction

Posted on August 31, 2013

This one started in a bar in Saint Petersburg. The beer was perfect. We were dressed and ready, but had a really rough idea about the entrance. Someone said that “nobody cares there, they’re in a hurry to meet the deadline” and we headed to a shaft.

The  fence was unexpectedly high. So what could we do then? We were in our orange hard hats and blue uniform.  Why not try to get past the guards?

The guard, surprisingly, didn’t care. We took the stairs down the 60-meter shaft. The elevator operator at the bottom was surprised to see three fucking idiots do that, but we tried to explain ourselves saying that “we didn’t want to wait for the elevators”.

We had a walk, took some photos in the few tunnel parts without workers and went back to the shaft. We (omfg) took the elevator back up. A rare thing it is, when you take the shaft elevator yourself and not to be led into a police car waiting for you.

The station was opened in 2009.
