Italy has something I’ve never seen before – underground irrigation canals. Clean water runs through the city towards the fields and farms. The tunnels are really old and even include fragments of a roman bridge. The journey starts at a regular red door on the street – you’d never think it leads to something special. After a walk around the most interesting parts we had a rest at a university inner yard. Lucky Brescian students can go underground whenever they’re bored with lectures =)
The Brescia Underground is really great – and the people are fantastic. I recommend their video if you haven’t seen it before – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GLTGtdLxrmk
